About Meows And Woofs
Hi, My Name Is Liz West
I have owned and operated Meows and Woofs since 2009. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and a Minor in Music from Ohio State University in 2012.
I previously worked as a veterinary assistant and office manager at Grandview Animal Clinic for over nine years, and also at MyVet Animal Hospital in Westerville. Growing up with many family pets, I often noticed the frustration my parents would experience with the dilemma of what to do with the furry children when the family was going out of town, or during long work days. It was for this reason that I decided to start Meows and Woofs. As an incredibly dedicated and reliable individual, it is extremely rewarding for me to be able to provide the kind of at-home pet care owners expect and their pets deserve.
I have been pet sitting since I was very young and have extensive experience caring for a wide variety of animals with a wide range of personalities. I currently have a menagerie of my own pets including a Saint Bernard named Daisy, a Beagle/Bernese Mountain Dog mix named Layla, and two cats named Smudge Mouse and Floyd. I have ridden horses since I was four years old and currently own a thoroughbred named Echo, rescued from the New Holland slaughter pen.
When I’m not busy working, or caring for my own animals, I can be found volunteering with CANTER USA, an organization that re-trains and finds homes for racehorses bound for slaughter. I also perform as the lead singer and keyboardist in a rock band, and volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
